Clifford Dickerson is a truck driver who was driving through Indiana when he caused a multi vehicle accident and it turned out he was high on meth
According to police reports officer would respond to an accident scene near Indianapolis Indiana and found two passenger vehicles and a semi truck on the side of the road
One of the passengers had to be airlifted to the nearest trauma center due to severe injuries
Officers would interview the driver of the semi truck Clifford Dickerson who appeared to be under the influence
Clifford Dickerson would be taken into custody and when tested he would test positive for amphetamines and methamphetamines
Clifford Dickerson would be charged with the following:
Causing Serious Bodily Injury when Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, a Level 5 Felony
Causing Serious Bodily Injury when Operating a Vehicle with a Schedule I or II, a Level 5 Felony
Needless to say Clifford Dickerson CDL is now history and his career in the trucking industry is over. In the past some drivers would rely on amphetamines in order to cover the most miles possible in a given day. Thankfully that practice has been eliminated for the most part however as Dickerson showed it still happens.
It should be noted that even though I cover DUI arrests on Truck Driver CDL101 that there are millions of CDL equipped drivers on the road that are operating safely and responsibly.
