Unfortunately accidents like this happen when a CDL driver becomes distracted for whatever the reason and soon find himself or herself in a bad situation. For whatever the reason this particular driver decided to swerve into the oncoming lane costing the lives of four people and will probably send Bekzhan Beishekeev to prison for decades.
New drivers tend to become complacent after driving without incident for a few months. I believe the statistics show a new driver is most likely to get in an accident during their first couple of months or near their first year anniversary. The first part of the statistic can be explained from lack of experience however the second half is due to complacency. As a professional driver you need to constantly remember that you are piloting a vehicle that is capable of massive damage
Bekzhan Beishekeev CDL will ultimately be revoked if he is convicted and his truck driving career is now over as no carrier will take a driver on with these type of convictions.
Bekzhan Beishekeev is also now facing deportation

The semi driver accused of killing four people in a Jay County crash last month is back behind bars on reckless homicide charges
Bekzhan Beishekeev, 30, faces four counts of reckless homicide and three counts of criminal recklessness. Authorities served Beishekeev an arrest warrant Thursday, according to a press release from the Jay County Prosecutor’s Office
The Feb. 3 crash occurred when Beishekeev’s truck swerved on S.R. 67, hitting a van head-on. Four passengers in the van were killed. The Jay County Coroner identified the victims, all men from the town of Bryant, as: 50-year-old Henry Eicher, 25-year-old Menno Eicher, 19-year-old Paul Eicher and 23-year-old Simon Girod.
Beishekeev’s criminal recklessness charges include one felony count for seriously injuring the driver of the van, and two misdemeanor counts for hurting two other passengers, according to the prosecutor’s office.
His initial arrest after the crash was through a bench warrant, meaning that his charges weren’t related to the crash. Beishekeev, who is from Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, was eventually taken into custody by ICE. He’d come to the U.S. using the CBP One app, according to the Department of Homeland Security. He was then issued a commercial driver’s license in Pennsylvania.
He was transferred from ICE custody to the Fulton County Jail, and then the Boone County Jail in Kentucky.
Beishekeev is being held in the Jay County Security Center, as of Friday’s announcement from the prosecutor’s office. His bond was set at $100,000, records show.
If Beishekeev were to be handed the maximum sentence based on the listed charges, he would be ordered to serve 28.5 years in prison.
Beishekeev’s role in the fatal crash has spurred action on a national level.
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy went on to announce all tests to obtain a commercial driver’s license are required to be in English. He also said the company that had employed Beishekeev as a trucker, as well as the driving school, had been “knocked out of service.” Meanwhile, Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) launched a tip line in which drivers can report trucking carriers suspected of breaking federal law.
