First of all welcome to truckdrivercdl101.com I figured I should take a bit of time to let you know who you are reading so you get a better scope of the trucker behind this particular corner of the web

In 2015 following an injury while working at a retail store I decided that I needed to find a new occupation that was not so hard on my aging body so I started to take a closer look at truck driving and getting my CDL

I signed up to a CDL school in Northern Ontario, Canada and began the process. The school had a good reputation and overall it was a positive experience.

That summer I tested for my CDL and was able to pass everything on the first try.

I decided to go with a company in Southern Ontario that had a strong reputation for training newly licensed drivers.

I went through their two week orientation, spent a week on the road with a trainer and was given the keys to my own truck. This particular company was North American wide and are particular region dealt with Ontario, Quebec, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, Wisconsin, Ohio, New Hampshire and Vermont.

I would end up staying with that particular company for over seven years. In the end the company decided they were tired of dealing with the nonsense of dealing with the borders and closed shop

After seven years of driving OTR I decided that I needed a change and the seventy hour weeks were getting to be a bit much. I joined a company in deep Southern Ontario that basically went from my city to a factory in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge area and back to my city. So basically two hundred miles one way, a drop and hook, and then two hundred miles back. I have been there ever since

So I will reach my eleven year anniversary this year (2026) and as long as my body holds out I have no intention of going anywhere else

Now that you know my history behind the wheel I hope that you find what you are looking for on Truck Driver CDL 101 – truckdrivercdl101.com
